My mate suggested this website for me www.freerice.com. It is a really amazing idea and everyone is a winner. The site is like a ‘thesaurus’ game. It will give a word, and a choice of 4 other words, and you have to pick the word that it means. There are loads of different levels that you can play at, so this way, anyone can play!
Each time you guess correctly, you ‘donate’ 20 grains of rice through the UN World Food Program. Where is the Con I here you say? Well, as far as I can see, there isn’t one. The site is a non profit site, and it is able to donate money by being paid by advertisers to show their website on the www.freerice.com homepage, pretty simple and legit if you ask me.
I am going to try and make it my own personal mission to donate at least 200 grains of rice a day, which is easily obtainable by getting 10 correct answers. I know that 200 grains isn’t much to us, but if everyone who reads this blog did it 10 times a day, then that could equal to quite a fair amount! Plus not only can you feel good about doing your little part to try and make a change someone in the world, you can also improve your vocabulary at the same time! This is what I mean by everyone is a winner!
Anyway, I hope you check it out, at least play it a few times!
